Location of Wades Beach House, Shelter Island, NY
Our beach house is within an easy 5-minute walk to beautiful Wades Beach on Shelter Island. There are several other town beaches on the island.
Shelter Island is exactly 100 miles from Times Square; it is between the north and south forks of Long Island. Shelter Island is easily accessible by car ferry. Visitors take the North Ferry from Greenport (North Fork) or the South Ferry from North Haven (South Fork).
Shelter Island is a short drive to the Hamptons:
Sag Harbor, 10 minutes
East Hampton, 15 minutes
Bridgehampton, 20 minutes
Southampton, 20 minutes
Also, the Orient Point Cross Sound Ferry is 15 minutes away from Greenport. It sails between New London, CT, and Orient Point, NY, several times a day. New London is 2 hours from Boston and 1 hour from New Haven.
